Custom Brass Logo Plate for Custom Components

Overview

A custom brass logo plate is a decorative nameplate that carries a brand mark, serial text or emblems in crisp relief, produced by photochemical machining rather than stamping or engraving. A photoresist mask is exposed with the artwork, developed, and the unprotected brass is dissolved in a controlled ferric chloride spray, so letter strokes, recess depth and outline are set by the artwork and etch time instead of tool pressure. Typical stock is H62/H65/H68 brass between 0.20 mm and 1.0 mm, chosen for its warm color, machinability and ability to take brushed, polished, plated or antiqued finishes that give a premium product its identity.

For brand and OEM buyers, a custom brass logo plate solves three recurring problems: stamped or cast marks soften fine lettering and lose sharp corners, recessed color-fill must be uniform depth so enamel or lacquer sits flush, and brass tarnishes unless the surface is sealed. Chemical machining forms every stroke on a sheet at the same rate, holding line width and depth consistent from the first sample through volume production, while leaving the plate flat, burr-free and ready for plating, fill and protective coating without the tool marks that spoil a visible face.

Parameter Window

  • Available Materials: H62, H65 and H68 brass; also copper, bronze and stainless for mixed decorative builds
  • Material Thickness Range: 0.20–1.0 mm
  • Tolerance: ±0.02 mm on line width, ±0.05 mm on outline
  • Minimum Feature: 0.15 mm letter stroke width, 0.8 mm character height, 0.10 mm recess depth
  • Surface Options: brushed, mirror polish, gold/nickel/chrome plating, antiqued patina, enamel or lacquer fill, PVD, anti-tarnish coating
  • Compliance: ISO 9001 process control, RoHS/REACH material traceability

Manufacturing Process / Workflow (8 Steps)

  1. Artwork & Nesting — Convert the logo and text to vector art, verify stroke-to-thickness rules, and lay out panels with shared registration marks.
  2. Material Certification & Prep — Verify brass grade, mill certificate and thickness, inspect for scratches, then shear to exposure size.
  3. Cleaning & Lamination — Degrease and laminate dry-film resist under matched heat and pressure without trapped bubbles.
  4. UV Exposure — Expose the artwork through high-resolution film, registered to the sheet edge for crisp, consistent lettering.
  5. Development — Wash out unexposed resist to open the recess areas and inspect for residue that would blunt a stroke.
  6. Controlled Etching — Spray brass-matched chemistry, tuning time, temperature and conveyor speed to hold recess depth and line width.
  7. Stripping & Finishing — Strip resist, neutralize, then brush, polish, plate, antique or color-fill, and seal with anti-tarnish coating.
  8. Inspection & Packaging — Measure stroke width, recess depth and outline on a vision system, verify finish, then pack with protective film.

Core Advantages

  1. Crisp fine lettering: Chemical removal holds 0.15 mm strokes with sharp corners, so small serial text stays legible without soft edges.
  2. No die cost: Each logo revision is a new film, keeping short runs, personalized plates and frequent artwork changes economical.
  3. Uniform recess depth: Etched recesses hold ±0.02 mm, so enamel or lacquer fill sits flush and consistent across every plate.
  4. Stress-free flatness: With no shear or heat input, the plate stays flat, so adhesive backing or screw mounting seats evenly.
  5. Rich finish range: Brass accepts brushing, plating, antiquing and color fill, giving a premium look from one flat, burr-free blank.
  6. Repeatable custom artwork: A custom brass logo plate can combine logos, text, borders and mounting holes on one part, reproduced from first article to volume.

Typical Applications

  • Equipment nameplates: Brand, model and serial plates on industrial machines and instruments.
  • Furniture & hardware badges: Decorative marks on cabinets, handles, locks and architectural fittings.
  • Gift & premium packaging marks: Logo plaques on boxes, trophies, awards and commemorative items.
  • Luggage & leather goods logos: Small branded plates on bags, belts and cases with color-filled recesses.
  • Instrument panel labels: Control-panel and dial plates where etched text outlasts printed legends.
  • Door & signage plates: Room-number, wayfinding and plaque signage with an antiqued or polished brass finish.

Design Notes & Process Considerations

  1. Stroke-to-thickness ratio: Keep letter stroke width at or above roughly the recess depth; too fine a stroke in deep etching undercuts and breaks.
  2. Artwork and depth: Supply vector artwork, state minimum stroke and character height, and specify whether the logo is raised or recessed.
  3. Grade and color: Choose H62/H65/H68 by forming and color needs, and note any required plating tone or antique patina on the drawing.
  4. Fill and sealing: Define enamel or lacquer color and recess depth, and specify anti-tarnish sealing since bare brass oxidizes over time.
  5. Mounting features: State screw-hole size, adhesive backing or studs, and allow process borders so thin lettering survives finishing.
  6. Cosmetic handling: With a custom brass logo plate, specify protective film, fingerprint control and surface-inspection criteria for visible brand parts.
